Based on our technology we are able to:
Generate and deliver results in complex scenarios, where data is scarce and difficult to obtain
Simulate specific scenarios and impact analysis
Visualize, monitor and analyse the effects of applying different policies, in order to facilitate decision-making
Methodology Path-ras
PATH-RAS is an algorithm that allows us to provide updated impact evaluation analysis even if there is a scarcity of information.
Advantages:
- Updating input-output tables is less costly
- Allows to produce reliable results and improve estimation
- Less data and time intensive
Example: The methodology has been applied to update IOT-2005 for Galicia region in 2007. The results showed almost 30% underestimation of intermediate and final demand in case of using IOT for 2005.

Spatial analysis Eval-set
EVAL-SET performs socioeconomic spatial evaluation of projects where the geographical dimension, population location and mobility are relevant variables for solving the problem.
Advantages:
-
- Combine and analyse complex data (geographical, demographic, economic and social)
- Possibility to run different scenarios and forecasts
- Visually appealing and easily-understandable
Example: incorporating into the model the information on the number of households with kids at school age, their location, logistic information, public bus service and its future projection provides the optimal location of the school that best suits the criteria that policy makers would like to address: minimum distance, maximum coverage.

Smart TIO
(Funded by CDTI, GAIN and support from the Ministry of Science and Innovation)

One of the tools in policy evaluation which AYeconomics develop is based on the Input Output analysis. This tool is funded by CDTI and support from the Ministry of Science and Innovation, and also from the Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN).
These evaluation tools, i.e. input-output tables, and their associated multisectoral models are extremely useful for impact and evaluation analysis, which can guide the evaluation of local and regional policies and, in turn, advise public and private administrators. Although it is a very powerful tool for the private and public sector, the cost of producing this tool tends to be quite high due to the fact that they are quite demanding on data. For countries with data scarcity and sparsity, as Central Asian countries, the cost is even higher and much more difficult to build. The adaptation of AYeconomics technologies will allow us to provide this evaluation tool for a reasonable cost. This tool has been mainly applied to developed countries, so it’s really important to account for developing countries’ specificities such as informal economy and how this can affect our methodology effectiveness.
The SMART-TIO innovations proposed by AYeconomics would be:
- Regionalization and update included in the application or platform itself.
- Intuitive way of use that does not require previous computer knowledge.
- Easy interpretation of the results by social actors in developing countries with little information.
